A perennial vine native to Japan and China, Kudzu is considered invasive in the United States. It’s referred to as “The Vine that Ate the South“, though this invasion brings many benefits.

Studies have shown Kudzu to boast chemicals that help overcome addictions, most notably alcoholism. In studies, participants had fewer drinks and cravings during the trial period.

While the US is just now finding out about the benefits of this vine, it’s been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for over 2,000 years. They’ve used the plant for its antioxidant & anti-inflammatory properties. It helps relieve stomach and digestion issues it contains a mucus like substance that helps counteract acid build up in the digestive system.
